Swap begins with Friday Night First Choice at 7 pm on Friday, October 21 in both Kirkwood and Columbia. (All Alpine Shop locations will close from 5–7 pm on this night. Our Chesterfield location remains closed for the rest of the night while Kirkwood and Columbia re-open.) This is your first crack at the great deals available in the huge selection of used skis and snowboards, bikes and boats, backpack and camping gear and an entire store’s worth of clothing.
On this night only at our Kirkwood location, we ask for a $5 entrance donation. ALL proceeds from this donation benefit the Gateway disAbled Ski Program—a not-for-profit recreational ski program for disabled children and adults in the Greater St Louis area. For the first time in 2011, the GDSP has now partnered with the Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) to offer even more services to Wounded Warriors, Fisher House Families and Duty Bound Kids from Jefferson Barracks and John Cochran Veterans Administration.
Please note, we ask for the $5 donation from everyone 13 years and older on this night – whether you plan on shopping the used gear selection or not. If for some reason, you are against paying this, new gear sales occur all day long on Friday at all three of our locations. You may shop freely at any of these stores until we close our doors at 5 pm to finish our preparations for the Swap. Once we reopen at 7 pm, all of our guests (13 and over) are expected to pay the entrance donation on this night only.
NOTE: Columbia’s Swap begins on Friday as well at 7 pm, but no entrance donation is collected.
